Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: a. Receive injuries due to failure of lifting mechanism from (3) Benwil automotive lifts Models: (1) TP-7, Serial #2776, (2) Model TP-7, Serial #3086, (3) Model FP-12, Serial# 1952695 and two Forward (1) Model 7000-A, Serial #056FC6001 and (2)Model #12000SF, Serial #019AC5561 and one Ammco Model #AO-9-R E V-2, Serial #P940413375 used by the employees for automotive lifting without the certification of inpsection. They were located at the west and east part of the main building. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to established a periodic inspection procedures as recomended by manufacturs. b. Recibir lesiones debido a fallos en el mecanismo de levantar carros. Habian tres gatos hidraulicos marca Benwil (1) Modelo PT-7, #S.2776, (2) Modelo PT-7, #S.3086, (3) Modelo FP-12 #S.1952695, dos marca Forward (1) Modelo 7000A, #S.056FC6001, (2) Modelo 12000SF, #S.019AC5561 y un Ammco-Modelo AO-9REV-2, #S.P940413375, usados por los empleados para levantar los carros sin certificacion de inspeccion. Estan localizados al oeste y este del edificio principal. Entre otros metodos, uno seguro y aceptable para corregir este riesgo es establecer un metodo de inspecciones periodicas, como recomienda el manufacturero.
