Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
a.  Receive serious injuries by falls due to an unstable and unsafe cover
of a
gathering pit, which visible part is of wood of 1/2 inch thickness, 2 x 2
feet
aproximately, being the pit 8 feet 5 inches deep. The employees pass over
or near
this cover as an access from the employees parking to the restaurant. Among
other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this
hazard is to install a steel cover.
a.  Recibir lesiones serias por caidas debido a una tapa inestable e
insegura de de
un foso colector cuya parte visible es de madera de 1/2 pulgada de grosor
y de
2 x 2 pies aproximadamente, teniendo el foso 8 pies y 5 pulgadas de
profundidad.
Los empleados pasaban sobre o proximo a dicha tapa como un acceso desde el
estacionamiento de empleados hasta el restaurante. Entre otos metodos
correctivos, uno seguro y aceptable para corregir este riesgo es colocarle
una tapa
de metal.
