Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
a. Receive serious respiratory  disease, allergies, due to the inhalation
of cigarette
smoke or other product elaborated from tobacco. The Smoking Room, eigth
floor,
south end area, Damas Hospital Building, (closed room), were not under
negative
pressure to prevent that the smoke get access to other rooms.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this
hazard is implement of engineering control to provide a negative pressure
in the
smooking room.
a. Recibir enfermedades respiratorias serias, alergias,  por la inhalacion
de humo
de cigarrillo u otro producto elaborado del tabaco. Cuarto de fumar, piso
octavo,
edificio Hospital de Damas area sur final (cuarto cerrado), no estaba bajo
presion
negativa para prevenir que el humo gane acceso a otros cuartos.
Entre otros metodos uno aceptable para corregir este riesgo es implantar
controles
de ingenieria para proveer  presion negativa al cuarto para fumar.

were not market by a sign reading, "Smoking Area". The areas close to
smoking
room, Recreational Therapy room, afected by the smoke, were not market by
a
sign
reading, "Not Smoking Area"
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this
hazard is installing a sing (at the smoking room) reading,"Smoking Area"
and thoses
area affecting by the smoke a sign reading "Not Smoking Area"
a. Recibir enfermedades respiratorias serias, alergias, por la inhalacion
de humo de
cigarrillo u otro producto elaborado del tabaco. Cuarto de fumar, (cuarto
cerrado),
no fue posteado con un letrero que leyera, "Area para Fumar". Las areas
cerca al
cuarto para fumar, cuarto terapia de recreacion, areas afectada por el
humo no fue
posteado un letrero que leyera, "Area de No Fumar".
Entre otros metodos uno aceptable para corregir este riesgo es instalar un
letrero (en
el cuarto para fumar) que leyera "Area para Fumar", y aquellas area
cercanas un
letrero advirtiendo "Area de no Fumar".endo
