General-duty citation text
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall hazard: a.Bark Belt - Employees travel on a platform attached to the bark belt to perform maintenance work to the belt and/or belt rollers. The platform is lacking an approximate 3' x 4' section of the floor. The employee is exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 12-15 feet. This condition existed on or about 11-8-01. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is replacement of the missing floor section.
