General-duty citation text
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employmnent and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to slippery conditions leading to falls when accessing over-the-road refrigerated trailers using the rear doors which lacked a means of safe access to the trailers when the trailers were not parked at a dock and the ramp was not used. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is installing "fold-down" steps and "grab bars" at the right side of the trailer. FULLER ROAD SITE: ANY TRAILER LACKING A SAFE ACCESS TO THE REAR OF THE TRAILER TO INCLUDE, BUT NOT BE EXCLUSIVE TO, TRAILER NUMBERS 178 AND 185.
