Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were potentially exposed to the hazard of being struck by falling loads or parts of a hoist as a result of hoist failure where a periodic inspection (at least annually) was not performed on: a.The Ingersol Rand, 1-ton, overhead, electric chain hoist at the "102" rotational molding machine. b.The Ingersol Rand, 1-ton, overhead, electric chain hoist at the "96" rotational molding machine. c.The Harrington Peerless, 1/2-ton, overhead, hand-operated, hook chain hoist at the "800" rotational molding machine. A feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to perform a periodic inspection (at least annually) as specified in the manufacturers' user manuals.urers'
