Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Sagfety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Among other methods, feasible abatement methods include: (1) Ensure that employees stand on the floor of the platform of a scissor list in accordance with the requirements of ANSI/SIA A92.6 8.10.1. (2) Implement a training program to ensure that employees are aware of the proper methods to used to operate scissor lifts such as those described in the Operators Manual and ANSI/SIA A92.6-1990.
