Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) Location - 45 Pleasant Street Methuen, MA: On July 9, 1998 employees entering and exiting the building from the court yard area were exposed to the hazard of being struck and cut by large jagged pieces of glass from a broken window above the entrance to the court yard. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable abatement methods include, but are not limited to: (1) Replace the glass in the broken window. (2) Use warning tape or barriers to prevent employees from entering the area of exposure.
