Section 5(A)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to falls from elevations of approximately 20 feet or more while engaged in rig up and/or rig down of drilling rig #68 components at the Chevron USA,Inc., J-Robbins A #3 well site located approxmately 20 miles east of Ft. Stockton, TX., on 01/30/98. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to provide bucket trucks to employees for access to the derrick as it rests in the stand in order to pin the derrickboard (also known as the monkeyboard) to the derrick.ard)
