Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees. Employees were in self propelled extensible boom aerial lift without any fall arrest. Among feasible means of abatement would be to comply with the American National Standards Institute, ANSI A92.5-1992 Standard for Boom-supported Elevating Work Platforms and, 1.Have the employee wear fall arrest anytime that they are in the aerial lift. Employees riding up and down from the roof top in an aerial lift at the Washington & Diehl Road jobsite were exposed to fall hazards. No fall protection was used. GREGORY IRONWORKS WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION #302041686, CITATION #1, ISSUED ON 6/15/98, WITH RESPECT TO A JOBSITE LOCATED IN WHEELING, IL. NO DOCUMENTATION OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREDATION
