Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to falls from a height of up to 15 feet. a)At the job site: While it was being operated, employer did not use the outriggers at the Boom Lift machine to stabilized it, according to the manufacturer's instructions. On or about August 26, 1998. ABATEMENT NOTE: Among others, one feasible and acceptable method to eliminate or to materially reduce this hazard is to ensure that the outriggers are extended while the machine is being used. Reference: ANSI/SIA A92.3-1990.
