P.L. 91-596 Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard(s) of getting crushed during collision or tipover: a.Rough Green Lumber Storage Area - The model TE-360L Taylor forklift truck serial number XSH84 876 S-H8 24874 was operated without the employee using the seat belts, on or about 7/24/97. b.Sorter Stacker Area - The Melroe Bob Cat 753 equipped with a fork attachment was operated without the employee using the seat belts, on or about 7/24/97. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to enforce the use of seat belts.
