Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employmnent and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) One employee was observed working from a manbasket, without fall protection, and was exposed to a fall of approximately 15-20 feet, at the McNary elevator. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement would be to have the employee wear a full body harness with a shock absorbing lanyard attached to the basket or boom.t

Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employmnent and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) PVC piping is in use for the compressed air line between the elevator and the maintenance shop at the McNary elevator. Among other methods, one feasible and accepatable method of abatement would be to replace the PVC piping with galvanized or ABS approved pipe and fittings.
