ORS654.010:  The employer did not furnish a place of employment
which was safe and healthful for employees, and did not do every
other thing reasonably necessary to protect the life, safety, and
health of the employees:
a)  As discovered on or about 9/29/97, employees have no means to
contact the Lane Education Service District Special Education for
assistance in the event of a violent behavior incident, unless they
are in close proximity to a public phone booth and/or are able to
request a bystander to call for them. The method of abatement that
was agreed upon and implemented in October, 1995, was that teacher
assistance would have cellular phones available to them for use
during field trips to allow immediate contact with the special
education case manager or others as needed.
An OTHER THAN SERIOUS REPEAT VIOLATION of Item 1-2 on Citation
F2996-057-95, issued June 26, 1995.
