Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
a)The employees were exposed to heat stress, respiratory problems and
other injuries due
that the air conditioner system were found damage in the followings areas:
Administrative Area, Guns Shop Area, Building A Control, Building D
Control and
Reception Area.  The design of the building do not provide for the use of
fans and due
that the air conditioner is not working the ventilation is very poor, for
that reason the
heat in the area is high. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable
abatement
method to correct these hazard is:
1. Repair the air conditioner system
2. Install a new air conditioner system
a)Los empleados fueron expuestos a problemas respiratorios, estres por
calor y otras
lesiones debido a que el sistema de aire acondicionado estaba danado en
las siguientes
areas: rea Administrativa, rea de Armeria, Control Edificio A, Control
Edificio D
y el rea de Recepcion. El diseno del edificio no provee para el uso de
abanicos y
debido a que el sistema de aire acondicionado no estaba trabajando la
ventilacion es bien
pobre, por tal razon el calor en el area es bien alta. Entre otros
metodos, un metodo
factible y aceptable para corregir este riesgo es:
1. Reparar el sistema de aire acondicionado
2. Instalar un sistema de aire acondicionado nuevo.
