Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards
that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees
in that employees
were exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
a)Collapse hazard and respiratory problem; In the school Juan Cardona
Rodriguez there 5 cesspool located in the interior courtyard which are
leaking
sewage by the lateral walls and roof(platform). The employees and students
used these area as walking surface and basketball-volleyball court where
can
collapse due up the cracks of the surface.
Location: Road 119, km. 28.7, San Sebastian, P.R.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard is :
1) Drain all cesspool.
2) Repair all leaks and seal the lateral wall.
3) Rebuild the roof of the all cesspool.
4) Install a drain line.
5) Install air inlet in each cesspool.
a)Riesgo de colapsarse y problemas respiratorios; En la escuela Juan
cardona
Rodriguez hay 5 pozos negros localizados en el patio interior los cuales
estan
escapando aguas negras por las paredes laterales y el techo o plataforma
de los
mismos. Los empleados y estudiantes utilizaron estas areas como superficie
para caminar y cancha de baloncesto y volleyball, donde puede colapsarse
debido a las grietas en la superficie.
Localizacion: Carretera 119, km. 28.7, San Sebastian, P.R.
Entre otros metodos, un metodo factible y aceptable de correccion para este
riesgo es :
1) Vaciar todos los pozos negros.
2) Reparar filtraciones de las paredes laterales.
3) Reconstruir el techo de todos los pozos negros.
4) Instalar una linea de desagGe.
5) Instalar respiradores en cada uno de los pozos."dores
