Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the rotating parts of the pipe threading machine: a- Pep Boys Store. On/or about June 28, 1999, employee(s) exposed to the hazards of using the Ridge 300 pipe threading machine which did not have a foot pedal device. One feasible and acceptable abatement method, among others, to correct this hazard is to provide a momentary contact device, such as a foot pedal device as required in ANSI B208.1-1982, section 4.4:ion
