Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Employees are exposed to injury by falling from or being struck by collapsing iron work. The employer did not provide proper permanent wind bracing as recommended by the Behlen Building Erection Guide and by the plans for the building being erected provided by Behlen Building Co., located on 99th St., in Lenexa, Kansas. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to place the permanent wind bracing in accordance with the Behlen Frame Building Erection Guide, and the plans provided by the Behlen building Company. 29 CFR 1903.19(d)(1) requires certification and documentation that the abatement of the above violation is complete.
