Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to falls from elevation, in that: a.On or about October 16, 1997, the tiebacks on the suspension scaffold went from the 2nd floor up and across the edge of the 4th floor to an anchor point, creating a chafing point on the tieback. One feasible and acceptable method to correct the hazard is to provide aerial lifts for employees to use in this area of the building. ABATEMENT VERIFICATION IS NOT REQUIREDTION
