Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) An Employee working from a lift at the rear of Building 1511 was exposed to the hazards associated with falls of approximately 16 feet and another employee had the potential of being struck, by a falling Bil-Jax XLT-C.A.T. telescopic lift. Among other methods feasible and acceptable to correct this hazard are but not limited to, installing and stabilizing all outriggers, and operate on a firm and level surface only.
