Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: Section 35(a)(1) of the Virgin Islands Act 6846 as ammended on July 19, 2006 Each public sector employer shall furnish to each of its employees employment and a place of employment which are free from recognized hazards that are causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to its employees. On or about:07/14/09 Location:Abattoir a)The employer did not develop and implement a written occupational hazard(s) assessment and employees exposure control plan for potential employees exposures such as but not limited to cut, bruises, amputations, blood, infectious materials and diseasess while working and handling during meat packaging procedures. NOTE:THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.CE
