Maintenance Area - Employees were not instructed in the recognition of
unsafe
conditions when servicing the Grove Lift SM 3269XT, Serial # 46542.
a)Lift was placed on blocks that were narrower than the tires, therefore
not on firm
footing to prevent the vehicle from being displaced.
One feasible abatement method would be to place the vehicle on firm
footing and chock
the wheels.  And employees need to be instructed in unique situations of
all instruments
that need to be utilized while performing maintenance.
