At the establishment: It were observed three (3) instances in which
fissured sections on
the ceiling structure in the second level of the building, which posed the
hazard of
traumas and fracture injuries, from slippings and falls on rainy days:
a. At the customers service modules;
b. At the kitchen section and,
c. At the females sanitary facility.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this
hazard is to restore anew the ceiling with concrete and sealing compound.
En el establecimiento: Se observaron tres (3) casos en los cuales
secciones resquebradas
en la estructura del techo en el segundo nivel del edificio, las cuales
constituyeron un
riesgo de traumas y lesiones por fracturas, por resbalones y caidas en
dias lluviosos:
a. En los cubiculos de servicio a los clientes;
b. En la seccion de la cocina y,
c. En la facilidad sanitaria para damas.
Entre otros metodos, un metodo accesible y aceptable para corregir este
riesgo es reparar
de nuevo el techo con cemento y compuesto sellador.

observed concrete interior sections of the ceiling plastering of a square
feet size, partially
loosened, at 112 inches height; exposing the employees to the hazard of
traumas and
serious fracture injuries of the head and the back, from collapse, fall
and impact by the
referenced concrete sections.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this
hazard is to restore the interior ceiling by means of plastering anew with
concrete.
En la facilidad sanitaria para "Damas", en el segundo nivel del
establecimiento: Se
observaron secciones de concreto del empanetado interior del techo de un
pie cuadrado
en tamano, parcialmente desprendidas, a 112 pulgadas de altura; exponiendo
a los
empleados al riesgo de traumas y lesiones serias por fracturas de la
cabeza y la espalda,
por colapso, caida e impacto por las secciones de concreto referenciadas.
Entre otros metodos, un metodo accesible y aceptable para corregir este
riesgo es
restaurar el techo interior mediante empanetado de nuevo con concreto.

At the utility and maintenance materials storage room, on the second level
of the
establishment: The illumination system within the utility and storage
room, provided with
a luminaire with two (2) fluorescent bulbs four (4) feet long each one,
was sampled by
means of a direct reading ligth meter trademark AW Sperry SLM-110, serial
L-244965.
A collection of 5 measurements of the luminaire illumination with 112
inches mounting
height were taken, each one correspondent to a 25 centimeters normal
visual focal length
over the storage shelves and under direct luminaire illumination, at the
200.0 FC
(footcandles) Band and at random distribution; of which measurements
varied from 1.5
FC to 0.2 FC with an arithmetical mean of 0.58 FC; where the minimum
recommended
illumination level for the type of job concerned and required safety
illumination level is
20.0 FC to comply with Section 7.3.1 of the ANSI A132.1-1973, which states
that "The
minimum quatity of light in use should be in keeping with recommendations
of Table
1-Illumination Levels Currently Recommended in Footcandles and Dekalux:
Washrooms:-Elevators, Escalators, Stairways, Corridors....20.0 FC on
Tasks/22.0
Dekalux on Tasks".
Hazard: Visual fatigue and gradual vision level impairment; contusions and
or fracture
injuries, from trippings and falls.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this
hazard is to increase the wattage of lamps, or increase the number of the
lamps in the
luminaires and/or, to provide a separate perimeter lighting system.
En el cuarto de utileria y almacenaje de materiales de mantenimiento, en
el segundo nivel
del establecimiento: El sistema de iluminacion dentro del cuarto de
utileria y almacenaje
provisto con una luminaria con dos (2) tubos fluorescentes de cuatro (4)
pies de largo
cada uno, fue muestreado por medio de un metro de luz de lectura directa
marca
AW
Sperry SLM-110, serie L-244965. Se realizo un muestreo de 5 mediciones de
iluminacion de la luminaria con 112 pulgadas de altura de montaje, cada una
correspondiente a 25 centimetros de distancia visual focal normal sobre
los anaqueles de
almacenaje y bajo la iluminacion directa de la luminaria, en la Banda de
200.0 FC (pie-
candelas) y con distribucion al azar; cuyas medidas variaron de 1.5 FC a
0.2 FC con una
media aritmetica de 0.58 FC, donde el nivel de iluminacion minimo
recomendado para
la ejecucion visual del tipo de trabajo concernido y el nivel de seguridad
requerido es de20.0 FC, para cumplir con la Seccion 7.3.1 del ANSI
A132.1-1973, que establece que
"La cantidad minima de luz en uso debera ser mantenida de acuerdo con las
recomendaciones de la Tabla 1- Niveles de Iluminacion Generalmente
Recomendados
en Pies-Bujias y Decaluces: Cuartos de Aseo:- Elevadores, Escaleras
Mecanicas o Sin
Fin, Escaleras, Pasillos....20.0 FC en Labor/22.0 Decaluces en Labor.
Riesgo: fatiga visual y deterioro gradual del nivel de vision.
Entre otros metodos, un metodo accesible y aceptable para corregir este
riesgo es
aumentar la potencia en vatios de las lamparas, aumentar el numero de
lamparas en las
luminarias y/o, proveer un sistema separado de alumbrado del perimetro.

Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this
hazard is to replace each drawer a handle anew.
En el salon de almacenaje de archivos del establecimiento: Se observaron
cuarenta y dos
(42) casos en los cuales gavetas de metal, de 26 pulgadas de largo y 13
1/2 pulgadas de
ancho, no tenian sus asideros; exponiendo a los empleados al riesgo de
lesiones serias
de los dedos, por cortaduras.
Entre otros metodos, un metodo accesible y aceptable para corregir este
riesgo es reponer
de nuevo el asidero a cada una de las gavetas.

hazard is to level the workroom floor surface with concrete.
En el establecimiento: El piso de los modulos de trabajo hacia el lado
izquierdo con
orientacion sagital medial en el segundo nivel de la estructura, fue
observado con una
inclinacion, la cual expuso a los empleados al riesgo de estresores
compartidos tales
como contusiones y traumas, por resbalones y caidas.
Entre otros metodos, un metodo accesible y aceptable para corregir este
riesgo es nivelar
la superficie del piso de los modulos de trabajo con cemento.
