Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:

El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
At the second floor of the General Services Offices, Municipality of Rio
Grande on
Soledad Road corner Juan R. Gonzalez, Rio Grande: The employees of the
second floor,
which do work, internal auditing and records maintenance use the stairs to
exit the
building. The step of the stairs are covered with porcelain tiles, the
first,
second and
third step are missing or have broken porcelain tiles on the treads of it
steps.
Hazard: Slips and falls from broken and/or loose porcelain tiles.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this
hazard is replace all loose and broken porcelain tiles.
En el segundo piso de la Oficina de Servicios Generales, Municipio de Rio
Grande en
la calle Soledad Esq. Juan R. Gonzalez, Rio Grande: Los empleados del
segundo piso,
los cuales realizan trabajos de auditoria interna y mantenimiento de
records utilizan las
escaleras para salir del edificio. Los escalones de la escalera estan
forados con lozetas,
el primer, segundo y tercer escalon le faltan o tienen rotas las lozetas
que cubren el
escalon.
Riesgo: Resbalones y caidas por lozetas sueltas y/o rotas.
Entre otros metodos, un metodo accesible y aceptable para carregir este
riesgo es
reemplazar todas las lozetas que faltan y las rotas.
