Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
Employees exposed to cuts and injuries due to the air pressure and the
wood particles
that the employees have in his body and cloth after work with the wood. At
Parada
Pallets & Molding Inc., located on the Road 887 Km 3 Bo. San Anton,
Carolina: Where
the employees works in the pallets amnufacturing, was observed that the
employees
removed the sawdust from their body with the air pressure hoses aiming to
theirselfs and
actioning it so that the presurized air went to theirselfs when they
finish the work time.
The air pressure taked in the pressure indicator at the air compressor was
140 psi.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this
hazard is
prohibit that the employees using the airpressure hoses to removed the
sawdust from his
dust.
Empleados expuestos a cortaduras y lesiones debido a la presion del aire y
al particulado
de madera que el empleado tenga en su cuerpo y ropa luego de trabajar con
la madera.
En Parada Pallets & Molding Inc., localizado en la Carr. 887 Km 3 Bo. San
Anton,
Carolina: Donde los empleados trabajan en la manufactura de paletas, se
observo que los
empleados se sacudian el aserrin del cuerpo con las mangas de aire a
presion a puntando
hacia ellos y accionandolas haciendo que el aire presurixadso saliera
hacia ellos cuando
terminan el turno de trabajo. La presion de aire tomada en el indicador de
presion del
compresor era 140 psi.
Entre otros metodos, un metodo apropiado y aceptable para corregir este
riesgo es
prohibirle a los empleados usen las mangas de aire a presion para quitarse
el aserrin de
su cuerpo.

Employees exposed to cuts, being struck and injuries from the wood pieces
that are
expelled from the machine due to its defects. At Parada Pallets & Molding
Inc., located
on Road 887 Km 3 Bo. San Anton, Carolina: Where the employees works in the
pallets
manufacturing, in the cut and sawing area, was observed that Chaflan
Machine had a
steelbar to finish of the canal, where it storage the cut wood pieces by
the machine. This
makes that the wood pieces jump of the canal.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this
hazard
is repair
the machine in accordance with rules of the manufacturer.
Empleados expuestos a cortaduras, ser golpeados y lesiones por los pedazos
de madera
que son expulsados por la maquina debido a sus defectos. En Parada Pallets
& Molding
Inc., localizado en la Carr. 887 Km 3 Bo. San Anton, Carolina: Donde los
empleados
trabajan en la manufactura de paletas, en el area de corte y aserrado, se
observo que la
Maquina Chaflan tenia una varilla al final de la canal, donde se almacenan
los tablones
cortados por la maquina. Esto hace que las maderan brinquen de la canal.
Entre otros metodos, un metodo apropiado y acceptable para corregir este
riesgo es
reparar la maquina de acuerdo a las reglas del fabricante.
