40.1-51.1.(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: a) The hydraulic floor bus lift located in the new shop did not have an automatic locking device to hold the lift in the extended position. One feasible and acceptable abatement method, among others, to correct this hazard is to adhere to the requirements set forth in ANSI B153.1-1990, section 4.1.11 that states: " Automotive lifts shall be equipped with an automatic mechanical device to hold the lift in the fully extended position."
