Va. Code Section 40.1-51.1(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees marshaled aircraft in close proximity to aircraft and ground support vehicles that could strike them. One feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to train employees on the proper safety procedures when working around aircraft and ground support vehicles as set out in the Signature Professional Service Training module on Handling Aircraft. The employee had only two days in which to review the training module and was not sufficiently aware of all the hazards in aircraft handling.
