40.1-51.1.(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) In the grinding area, the saw blade mounted on the Shop Smith circular saw was not properly sized to fit the saw arbor. This is evidenced by the elliptical path of the saw blade when put into motion. One feasible and acceptable abatement method, among others, to correct this hazard is to install a properly sized saw blade for this equipment in accordance with the manufacturers instructions.
