North Carolina General Statute 95-129 (1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: a)electrical department--a 1 ton CM monorail overhead lifting device was not provided with an initial load test and inspected before being placed into operation. NOTE:An acceptable means of abatement would be to have the overhead lifting device load tested and inspected before further use. REFERENCE:ANSI/ASME B30.11-1980, section 11-2.2 b)electrical department--a below-the-hook device, spreader bar, was not provided with an initial load test and inspected before being placed into operation. NOTE:An acceptable means of abatement would be to have the below-the-hook lifting device load tested and inspected before further use. REFERENCE:ANSI/ASME B30.20-1985, section 20-1.4
