Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: Employees caring for the macaques at the Little River Zoo were exposed to the hazard of contracting zoonoses through contact with the eyes and mucous membranes of potentially infectious materials such as fecal matter, urine and other bodily fluids from nonhuman primates: A method of protection for the employees would be installation of a means to immediately flush the eyes and mucous membranes in the event of an exposure. ***Certification and Documentation of Abatement Required***on
