Section 5(A)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:
The employer did not furnish to employees employment and a place of
employment which were
free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or
serious physical harm
to employees in that employees were exposed to:
a) Throughout construction site;
Employee(s) operating 4 Rigid 300 Pipe Threaders machine numbers
7544567,F58141, S772532,
and one with no number and a Thred-o-Matic s/n 16549, that were not
equipped with a
mandatory moment contact device as required by the American National
Standards Institute
ANSI B208.1-1982, Section 4.4.  One feasible and acceptable method of
abatement is to equip
through the installation of a constant pressure foot treadle switch so
that if the employee(s) are
caught in the equipments rotating parts, the equipment can be easily shut
off.
