Employees in the shop are exposed to the hazard of using a vehicle hoist
that leaks
hydraulic fluid requiring dependence upon the back up mechanical system to
prevent the
hoist from descending and increasing the overall danger of an unexpected
drop.  One
feasible and acceptable abatement method includes but is not limited to
rebuilding the
main cylinder and maintaining the lift in accordance with the
manufacturers requirements
as stated in ANSI/ALI B153.1-1990, American National Standard for
Automotive Lifts--
Safety Requirements for the Construction, Care, and Use.
