Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employmnent and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to:
a) North end of building - Employee was observed standing on the platform
of a boom-supported
elevating work platform (aerial lift) was not wearing a fall arrest
system. This condition last
existed on May 27, 1998.
Among other methods, one feasible and useful method to correct this hazard
is to develop,
implement and enforce a work rule such as stipulated in American National
Standards Institute
A92.5 "Boom-Supported Elevating Work Platforms".
Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the
requirements of
29 CFR 1903.19(c).
