Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed the hazard of head injuries due to missing hook stops on the trolley system. a) Inside the Holding Cooler, numerous "hook stops" designed to prevent processed meat from falling off the trolley system were missing. This condition exposed employees to head injuries. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Sample Abatement-Certification Letter").
