Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupation Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a. On or about June 18, 1998, at the job site located at 2641 South Calumet, Chicago, Illinois, employees working in an aerial lift were not provided with a harness and lanyard to prevent falling out of the basket to the ground. A feasible and useful means of abatement includes, but is not limited to the following action: 1. Ensure that all employees who work in an aerial lift are provided with, and use a safety harness and lanyard which is correctly donned and used according to the manufactures' recommendations.
