Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employee were exposed to: An employee working from a Marklift CH44C aerial lift at the jobsite located at 16051 S. LaGrange, Orland Park, IL, was exposed to a fall due to lack of personal fall arrest equipment. Among feasible means of abatement would be to comply with the American National Standards Institute, ANSI A92.5-1992 Standard for Boom-supported Elevating Platforms and have employees wear fall arrest equipment anytime that they are in the aerial lift. M & E Construction was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.28(a) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 300587987 citation number 01, item number 2, issued on 12/16/97.
