Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a. On or about September 9, 1999, employees working from a Terex aerial lift(self-propelled) at the 19th and Paulina jobsite were exposed to a fall due to the lack of personal fall arrest equipment. Among feasible means of abatement would be to comply with the American National Standards Institute, ANSI A92.5-1992 Standard for Boom-supported Elevating Platforms and have employees wear fall arrest equipment anytime that they are in the aerial lift. NOTE: 29 CFR 1903.19 REQUIRES THAT YOU PROVIDE CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT FOR THIS ITEM.
