North Carolina General Statue 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: a)fire/explosion hazard - a NIECO automatic broiler and four Frymaster fryers "moveable gas appliance" were not installed with restraining devices that prevented the transmission of strains to their gas connectors. The lack of restraining devices creates the hazard of unintentional physical damages, i.e.,( torn, broken, pulled apart, and etc.) from accidental or intentional movement of the appliances, thus, causing an accidental gas release. One feasible and acceptable abatement method, among others, to correct this hazard is to equipped all moveable gas appliances with restraining devices. (Reference: ANSI Z21.69 1992, section 1.7.4)

North Carolina General Statue 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: a)fire/explosion hazard - a manual shut-off valve was inoperable, in that, it had a broken handle when it was installed upstream of a quick-disconnect device. The disconnect device connected to a connector connecting a NIECO automatic broiler "moveable gas appliance" to the natural gas piping system. The defective valve created a condition for an accidental or uncontrolled gas release. One feasible and acceptable abatement method, among others, to correct this hazard is to repair the shut-off valve. (Reference: 1993 National Fire Code, NFPA 54, section 5.5.5)
