North Carolina General Statue 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to a crushing hazard: a)feed log deck area -- employees were using CW Halls 1 ton model L, overhead electric hoist mounted on pivoting steel I-beams, to lift saw blades weighing up to 500 lbs. Dated hoist inspection reports and records were not maintained. (Ref. ANSI B30.16-1981 Sec 16-2.1.5(a)). One feasible method of abatement among others, is to perform and document annual and frequent inspections on the cranections
