North Carolina General Statute 95-129 (1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: a)MEC Aerial Work Platform, employee was observed working while standing on the top rail of the lift while it was fully extended to its maximum height of 16 feet with no type of fall protection. Reference ANSI A92.6-1990 Self-Propelled Elevating Work Platforms Personnel Footing 8.10.1 - Personnel shall maintain a firm footing on the platform floor while working thereon. Use of planks, ladders, or any other devices on the platform for achieving additional height or reach shall be prohibited. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct these hazards would be to follow all of the requirements of ANSI A92.6-1990 Self-Propelled Elevating Work Platforms when employees are working from these devices.

North Carolina General Statute 95-129 (1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: a)MEC Aerial Work Platform, there was no midrail on the entrance to the work platform. Reference ANSI A92.6-1990 Self-Propelled Elevating Work Platforms Platforms 4.12.2.2 Mid- Rail - The guardrail system shall include a mid-rail approximately midway between the top rail and the platform surface. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct these hazards would be to follow al the requirements of ANSI A92.6-1990 Self Propelled Elevating Work Platforms when employees are working from these devices.
