29 CFR NCGS.95(129)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: a)warehouse--a DEMAG jib crane was not provided with an initial load test before being placed into operation. b)automation department--a Duff Norton 1/2 ton jib crane was not provided with an initial load test before being placed into operation. NOTE:An acceptable means of abatement would be to have the jib cranes load tested and inspected before further use. REFERENCE:ANSI/ASME B30.11-1973, section 11-2.2.2

North Carolina General Statute 95-129 (1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: a)automation department--a 1/2 ton Duff Norton floor mounted jib crane was not provided with frequent and periodic inspections. NOTE:An acceptable means of abatement is to conduct frequent (monthly) and periodic (annual) inspections. REFERENCE:ANSI/ASME B30.11-1973, section 11-2.1.2
