General-duty citation text

North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety
and Health Act of North Carolina:  The employer did not furnish to
each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of
employment which were free from recognized hazards that were
causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees:
a)burn hazard while blowing into burners to turn stove on
in that the employer did not provide proper service and
maintenance that would allow natural gas to reach the
stove's pilot without employees blowing into the burners.
Also, the employer did not provide control knobs on the
stoves for turning burners on and for controlling the
height and intensity of flame provided to the burners.
One feasible method of abatement would be implementing a
service contract with a qualified installer, service
agency or gas supplier to ensure proper operations of
stove.ions
