North Carolina Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees. a)facility dyehouse, employees were exposed to an inhalation hazard resulting from inappropriate operating procedures for the prevention of over filling and spillage from a hydrogen peroxide storage tank on November 17, 1998. NOTE: Possible methods of abatement include, but are not limited to: (1)Installing overfill alarms and automatic pump shutoffs. (2)Decreasing the actual volume added to tank (more frequent transfers). (3)Isolate the tank from other incompatible chemical storage tanks by constructing individual containment dikes.
