North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: a)linear edge department--a Budget 1/4 ton monorail hoist and a 1/4 ton Yale monorail hoist were attached to the ceiling joists of the building and were not provided with load tests to ensure the hoists and their supporting structures could sustain the loads applied to the hoists. Reference: ANSI B30.11-1980, paragraph 11-2.2.2 NOTE:Among other methods of abatement, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to have the monorail hoists provided with a load test to ensure they and their supporting structures can sustain the loads applied to them.ed
