THE CITATION ISSUED ON APRIL 26, 2000, IS HEREBY AMENDED TO READ: 11 NMAC 5.2.9 Section 50-9-5(A), NMSA 1978 (New Mexico Occupational Health and Safety Act): Every employer shall furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which are free from recognized hazards that are causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his employees. ANSI B56.6-1987 5.15.1 Elevating Personnel. Be certain that the platform is securely attached to the lifting carriage or forks. Employees are exposed to falling approximately 23 feet to a lower level on the east side of apartment complex due to an elevated work platform not being securely attached to the lifting carriage or forks to prevent the platform from becoming detached when occupied by personnel. One feasible and useful abatement method for reducing this hazard is to make certain that the platform is securely attached as recommended by ANSI B56.6-1987 5.15.1. THE CITATION ISSUED ON APRIL 26, 2000 IS HEREBY AMENDED TO READ: 11 NMAC 5.2.9 Section 50-9-5(A), NMSA 1978 (New Mexico Occupational Health and Safety Act): Every employer shall furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which are free from recognized hazards that are causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his employees. ANSI B56.6-1987 5.15.1 Elevating Personnel. Be certain that required restraining means such as railings, chains, cables, body belts(s) with lanyards(s), etc., are in place and used. Employees are exposed to falling approximately 23 feet to a lower level on the east side of the apartment complex due to elevated work platform not having means of fall protection. One feasible and useful abatement method for reducing this hazard is to install restraining devices as recommended by ANSI B56.6-1987 5.15.1. Date Corrected Describe Corrective Action :
