11 NMAC 5.2.9
Section 50-9-5(A), NMSA 1978 (New Mexico Occupational Health and Safety
Act):  Every
employer shall furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of
employment which
are free from recognized hazards that are causing or are likely to cause
death or serious physical
harm to his employees.
ANSI B56.6-1987 5.15.1 Elevating Personnel. Be certain that the platform
is securely attached
to the lifting carriage or forks.
Employees are exposed to falling approximately 23 feet to a lower level on
the east side of
apartment complex due to an elevated work platform not being securely
attached to the lifting
carriage or forks to prevent the platform from becoming detached when
occupied by personnel.
One feasible and useful abatement method for reducing this hazard is to
make certain that the
platform is securely attached as recommended by ANSI B56.6-1987 5.15.1.

Employees are exposed to falling approximately 23 feet to a lower level on
the east side of the
apartment complex due to elevated work platform not having means of fall
protection. One
feasible and useful abatement method for reducing this hazard is to
install restraining devices as
recommended by ANSI B56.6-1987 5.15.1.
