Title 40.1-51.1.(a), Code of Virginia: The employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free
from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause
death or serious physical harm to employees in that were
exposed to:  The employee(s) were riding on this conveyor
(Eagle Vertical Reciprocating Conveyor) located at the loading
dock area.
ANSI standard  #B20.1 is the applicable standard for vertical
reciprocating conveyor.  Section 6.21.1 (c) states "Riding the
conveyor shall be forbidden to all personnel.  Warning signs
to this effects shall be prominently posted at each point of
access and each point of operation".  In the operating manual
for the conveyor states; "No person shall ride a conveyor.
Never allow anyone to ride on the Eagle VRC".
One feasible and acceptable abatement method is to not allow
anyone to ride on the Eagle VRC.  There is also a sign posted
in the conveyor car that states "Personnel Prohibited".
