Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: From the elevation hazard: Employees used the ladder attached to the boom of a truck crane as a scaffold or a platform while employees were installing back-lighted letters to the exterior of a newly constructed building at 1101 Rambling Oaks in Norman, Oklahoma. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct this hazard include but are not limited to the following: (1) tying off with personal fall arrest equipment; (2) selecting and using equipment designed to safely provide access to elevated work areas; (3) safe and proper use of a ladder; and (4) appropriately guarded work platforms. ***Certification and Documentation of Abatement Required***on
