Section 5(a)(1) of Public Law 91-596, the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to hazards of electrocution when employees plug the ambulance into an outside outlet with no GFCI protection. (a)Forest, MS Location - Employees plug the ambulance into the outside wall outlet to recharge the heaters without GFCI protection. (Reference Article 210 Branch Circuits, 210-8Ground-Fault Circuit-Interrupter Protection for Personnel, (a) Dwelling Units. (3) All 125-volt, single phase, 15-and 20-amphere receptacle installed outdoors where there is direct grade level access to the dwelling unit and to the receptacles shall have ground fault interrupter protection for personnel.) One feasible means of abatement would be to install a GFCI.
