Section 5(a)(1) of Public Law 91-596, the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to: Hazard of falling wood boards when loading or unloading the dry kiln. (a) Dry Kiln - Employees on June 3, 2000 were exposed to being hit by falling boards when employees are allowed to stand near a charge of lumber during the loading and unloading of the dry kiln. One feasible and acceptable abatement method include but not limited to: Restrict employees from standing near a charge of lumber when it is being loaded and unloaded into the dry kiln.
