SCRR 71-112A: Failed to furnish a place of employment which is free of recognized hazards which may cause death or serious physical harm to his employees and comply with this regulation and other occupational safety and health rules and regulations promulgated under Chapter 15 of Title 41, Code of Laws, State of South Carolina, 1976, as amended, as follows: A. Employer knew or should have known that employees working near dump trucks were exposed to the hazards of being struck by trucks unexpectedly backing up. A feasible and useful method to correct this hazard, among other methods, is to install back up alarms on three dump trucks, equipment numbers old 49, new 49 and 31 (license numbers MG 26035, MG 37702 and MG 30996 respectively) located on the yard at the Cheraw Public Works Department. B. Employer knew or should have known that employees working near sweeper truck were exposed to the hazards of being struck by sweeper truck backing up with out warning. A feasible and useful method to correct this hazard, among other methods, is to install a backup alarm on a Ford L-7000 diesel sweeper truck, equipment number 70 license number MG 29445 located in the truck storage area of Cheraw Public Works Department.
